About The Doctors
Dr. Alan Karoub was born in the Wayne/Westland, Michigan area. He grew up in Huron Township with a love for Equestrian activities and Chiropractic. He received his first chiropractic adjustment at 3 days old. Dr. Karoub graduated from Life University in Marietta, Georgia in the spring of 2001 and in the fall of 2001 he was practicing in St. Helen, MI. He served the St. Helen area for 8 years before he joined the staff at Preferred Chiropractic in Saginaw, MI in 2010.
He resides in St. Helen, MI with his wife Trisha and two children Samantha, age 5 and Joshua, age 4. Both of his children were adjusted within hours of their births. Dr. Karoub loves the outdoors, whether it is walking in the backyard with his family, camping or fishing, when he is not at work you can find Dr. Karoub connecting with nature.
Dr. Karoub looks forward to putting his personal and professional experience with Chiropractic to good use in helping all of his patients reach their health care goals.
Dr. Jennifer Horton was raised in Darragh, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburg. An athlete her entire life, Dr. Horton decided to try her mother’s chiropractor after a softball injury during high school. Chiropractic helped her to heal quickly, and she became stronger and faster due to the adjustments her chiropractor provided. She went on to play softball and basketball in college.
Dr. Horton attended the University of Pittsburg for her undergraduate studies and continued her education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Before she graduated from Palmer in 2006, she traveled to India to serve the people with chiropractic care. After graduation she made Michigan her home. Dr. Horton is a member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors and the International Chiropractors Association. Dr. Horton enjoys bringing chiropractic to families so they too, can discover their true health potential
Michael J. Dense, D.C. has been at the Preferred Chiropractic of Shields office, 7261 Gratiot Road, since December 2009. Dr. Dense spent the past 4 years at the Preferred Chiropractic location in Carrollton where he started as a post graduate preceptor and later as the Director of Marketing and then Senior Associate Doctor.
Dr. Dense, originally form northeast Ohio, earned his doctorate of chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2005. He completed his internship at the Palmer Rock Island, Illinois Outreach Clinic, where he was awarded the Outstanding Intern Award and then served as a Clinical Teaching Assistant. He was active in many clubs including the Sports Council and the Pediatrics Club. He attended Kent State and Davenport Universities and has undergraduate degrees in both business management and general science. He is currently enrolled in a post-graduate program in Applied Clinical Nutrition through Texas Chiropractic College and Standard Process Nutrition.
Dr. Dense is an approved facilitator for the Michigan WorkSafe program, has done many public lectures including schools, unions, community groups, and has been a guest lecturer at his alma mater. He is available to speak for your group or organization by calling (989) 781-7700.
Dr. Dense is a member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors, the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association and the Christian Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Dense enjoys golf, watching sports and has been an avid drummer for over 40 years. He has two grown daughters who live in Ohio and resides in Shields with his wife, stepchildren, and 2 dogs.
Dr. Anne Zawadzki was raised in Michigan but has relocated here from Arizona where she previously owned a clinic in Green Valley, AZ and has also worked in the Grand Cayman Islands. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Michigan in 1995 and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa in 2002.
Utilizing a wide range of techniques, Dr. Zawadzki treats a variety of patients ranging from infants to seniors and is dedicated to providing the best possible care for her patients. She specializes in the treatment of acute and chronic musculo-skeletal conditions including neck pain, headaches, lower back pain, shoulder and arm pain, hip and leg pain, osteoarthritis and sports injuries. Not only does Dr. Zawadzki offer treatments to patients, but she also provides personalized programs to those people interested in proper ergonomics, long term maintenance and prevention from their neck and back conditions.
