Formerly a solo practitioner in Shields for 30 years, Dr. John Votruba now works at our Preferred Chiropractic of Shields office. He grew up in Saginaw, Michigan where he graduated from Arthur Hill High School. He attended Central Michigan University where he got his Bachelors Degree, and Wayne State University where he received his Masters Degree in Psychology. In 1970, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Lincoln College where he also taught Diagnosis. Dr. Votruba resides in Saginaw with his wife Dolly, and his son Tony.

Dr. Ouais grew up overseas in Morocco. He attended Texas Southern University and Houston Community College where he completed a four year program with a Biology Major. From there he went to Life Chiropract ic University, the largest Chiropractic School in the world, in Marietta, Georgia. He graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001. After graduation, Dr. Ouais worked in many Chiropractic clinics throughout Michigan and served thousands of people. He loves his profession and does not see anything better than getting people out of pain to enjoy their lives. One of his greatest experiences is joining Preferred Chiropractic where he continues to follow his passion. Dr. Ouais enjoys reading, traveling and learning about other cultures. He now resides in Saginaw, MI with his wife.

Tina graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, School of Technology in 1988. Prior to moving to Michigan in February 2005, she worked at Palmer College for 12 years. Tina provides front desk assistance, processes insurance, takes x-rays and generally keeps the clinic running efficiently. Tina has three children and two step-daughters.

Cindy enjoys working at Preferred Chiropractic Clinic of Shields.  She enjoys the professional and friendly atmosphere.  Cindy lives in Hemlock, has three daughters and a dog named bandit.  She enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.

Josie has been practicing massage therapy since 2003.  She graduated and is certified through Blue Heron Academy of Traverse City and the AMMA.  She has been working at Preferred Chiropractic of Shields since 2005.

Maria is a Certified Massage Therapist from the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage. She graduated in 2005 and has been employed at Shield’s Chiropractic since September 2006. She has a rapidly growing clientele but is always looking for new faces. Her hobbies include enjoying football, hockey, baseball and basketball games, concerts and volunteering for St. Thomas Aquinas and Boy Scouts of America. She is now attending Saginaw Valley State University for business management and kinesiology.

Arlene has been practicing massage therapy for 18 years. She is a graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in Chicago, IL, specializing in Swedish, Sports Massage, and BMT Body Mobilization Technique. She also attended Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy in Ann Arbor, MI, for advanced courses in Neuromuscular Therapy I, II, and III.

Her hobbies include photography, cycling, dancing, computers, and currently reading "The Zohar."
